Why Buy a Dunable?

“Brutal and elegant combined in one look. A road warrior and a show piece in one.”

In case you find yourself wondering what makes our guitars so great, give this a read. Our goal is to not only create the highest quality instrument you’ve ever played, but to create one that you wouldn’t be afraid to play out for one gig or a year-long worldwide tour. Or if your dog walks by and accidentally knocks it over. A Dunable guitar is built to stand up to your abuse (within reason, you maniacs…), both inside and outside, while feeling and playing amazingly.

Dunable Pickups

  • Grizzly

A slight mismatch between the scatterwound coils makes for an airy, chimey top end, with a rounder midrange than the typical PAF-style pickup, and a tight bass response, courtesy of the Alnico IV magnet. Wound with polyurethane-coated 42AWG magnet wire, for a vintage voice with a modern clarity. The bridge position roars with enough cut for any mix, while the neck can deliver heavenly clean tones as well as violin-like sustain on overdriven solos. The perfect pickup for any style of rock, with enough personality to be useful for anything from jazz to super-shred heavy metal.

  • Baphomet

This is the be all, end all pickup for players who want the abrasiveness of an active, but the dynamics of a passive. Ceramic magnets and rail-type polepieces make for an attack like an icepick, and the modestly wound 42AWG magnet wire mixes in the full mids and stop-on-a-dime bass response. Perfect for thrash and death metal, but the Baphomet actually excels in any rock application where power and clarity are desired.

  • Direwolf

Our take on the classic aftermarket, “hot rodded” pickup, with a slightly dialed down output for just the right mix of clarity and power. Slightly mismatched coils scatterwound with 43AWG magnet wire and an Alnico V magnet make for a nice sparkle on top of juicy midrange and a chunky bottom end punch. Soaring leads, raunchy rhythms, and presence in any mix characterize this amazing pickup. Great for any style of metal, rock, or fusion, but versatile enough to be utilized in any style of music.

  • Slugwolf

Say hi to the Slugwolf. Essentially a Direwolf but with two slug bobbins instead of a screw and a slug. These seem to tame the ice picky high end that the Direwolf can have (which I actually like in most scenarios) but keeps the dynamic and vocal-like midrange thanks to the Alnico V magnets, 43 AWG, scatter wound and slightly mismatched coils, and wax potting. 11.8k neck/13.8k bridge. I’ve been using these in my own guitars and have never been happier with my tone. Here are a few of the practically limitless options for covers and aesthetics you can order them with.

Opinions and thoughts...

  • Jeff Matz
“I am the owner of the first Dunable bass. It is an incredible instrument! It balances perfectly, the neck feels just right, and most importantly, it sounds unreal! Sacha worked with me to create exactly the instrument I wanted. The finished product far surpassed all of my expectations! Can’t recommend his guitars enough.”

“I just received the first Dunable 7 string this morning, about an hour ago.

This Yarnhawk is without a doubt the most incredible 7 string I’ve ever laid eyes on, and I can’t believe that it’s actually mine. The feel is phenomenal, the neck is great and the sustain is second to none. Sacha didn’t just meet my expectations – he exceeded them BY FAR. And yes, it sounds as beautiful as it looks. I can’t stop gushing about how great this thing is!

Ladies and germs, Sacha knows his shit. Give him your money!”

“I ordered a custom SG and it came out absolutely amazing. I handpicked everything I wanted done and Sacha guided me through all of the questions I needed answered. As cliche as it sounds, each guitar is a work of art. Check out any one of his builds and see for yourself.”

“Tone, Quality and Beauty do not even begin to describe this instrument. I am floored by the opportunity to play and record with it.”
