Charley Ruddell is a true bass hero, as anyone who has seen a Castle Rat performance lately will tell you. The mid-show bass solo brings to mind such a variety of greats like Cliff Burton, Geezer Butler, and even some Bootsy, yet delivers a unique musical personality - rare for a bassist in a classic heavy metal band. 

Charley's idea for a Thunderclapper perfectly lives up to the model's name in every way. A mahogany neck on black limba body make for a highly resonant instrument, and combined with the long 35" scale, make just about anything sound huge and clear. The option of a D-split and Baphomet pickups opens up the possibility of two very different but useful tones for all kinds of scenarios.
